Lynne’s double rainbow

“Thank you for opening your heart and home to my mother.  She received outstanding care for which I am immensely grateful.  At first, I was apprehensive removing her from the comfortable routines of her former home, but soon realized moving her was the right decision as your competency, compassion and integrity were apparent from the beginning.

You supported her in a way far beyond my expectations – feeding her body, her spirit and her soul. Love was the first ingredient in Hanuman’s homemade curries and in Mari’s ice cream delights; Love was the first ingredient at the beginning and ending of each shift as her caregivers doled out their loving kindness; Love was the first ingredient each Sunday service as Mari tenderly adjusted Mom’s pillows and held her hand; Love was the first ingredient as G. offered to help feed Mom on her first day; Love was the first ingredient when all the staff prayed with her on her last day; and Love was the first ingredient as the residents showered her in chant and song as she left her body and climbed the double rainbow.

I am a very grateful daughter. You allowed her to live as she died.  You attended to her physical needs, keeping her comfortable; you took her on outings, despite the practical challenges in doing so; you treated her like family and supported her on-going spiritual journey.  And yes, you supported me and held my hand when fear took over.

Thank you, Hanuman and Mari. Thank you for taking us into your fold.  Mom and I were truly blessed to have found you.

Affectionately,

—Robin Helm

The first time I saw him after the move, I was astounded at the transformational change he demonstrated. His eyes were sparkling, and he was so happy to see me. Within one month of the loving care he receives from the Ananda House staff, he improved so much he no longer qualifies for hospice, and he continues to thrive at 90 years “young”!

I am a nurse, and I have worked in hospice and home health for 25 years visiting many elderly people living in adult foster homes. Ananda House is by far the crème de la crème of this level of care. We as a family are so blessed to have our father living there. The care is outstanding!”
